Move north-east towards Springburn and the Bishopbriggs-side suburbs and the property mix shifts again: more semi-detached and terraced post-war housing, more gardens, more straightforward boiler cupboards, but also more of the corrosion and pipework wear you would expect from housing stock now well past its original fit-out. Hot water pressure is a recurring complaint in this part of the city, often down to ageing distribution pipework rather than anything wrong with the boiler itself. Water pressure generally across Glasgow varies more than people expect between flats even on the same street, largely down to the condition of shared internal pipework in older buildings and how many floors the water has to reach.
